Mini weekend getaway

So over the weekend we spent the night at oneworld hotel, damansara.  Husband is a member so once a year we'll get a free stay!

Yeah, I know I know.. It's unusual for people to have mini getaways in the city right? Imagine beaches, serenity, outdoors..

Haha, not us.

We're self-proclaimed city people. We love the ease of just having a store downstairs for quick dinners so that we can spend most of the time..

IN THE HOTEL ROOM OF COURSE!

Whyyyy would you pay a hefty price for the room if you're just going to spend most times outdoors and not actually ENJOY the room innit? Ok fine, that's debatable. But we loveee lazing around, enjoying the lush mattresses and pillows, bathtubbb.. swimming pool!

( The 10 seconds that she was calm in the water before screaminggggggg! )
Aaron loves staying in hotels for these reasons especially! He doesn't mind not going out, if he can guling2 atas katil tuh.. Like mother like son!

I was happy when he suggested that I go for the massage (also included in the coupon, but only entitled for a capped rate of RM110 for ANY MASSAGE)! Wehhoooo.. Offered to watch the kids (read=subject to the baby sleeping) whilst I have my one hour 'me' time. Decided to pick 8pm, just before they close. The lil' one often (alhamdulillah) sleeps at 7'ish every night (IF NO DISTRACTIONS).. So after a full day, we figured she'd stick to her routine. Which she did, yeay! Was initially worried that husband would have to call up the spa to stop my massage because baby woke up!

I chose the deep tissue massage. I was still very sore from the mini marathon in the morning, so I figured I needed a really goodddd one to ease my muscles.

Didn't work. Too sore.

But otherwise, I think the massage would have been a great one were it not for my superrrrr sore muscles. I think the girl climbed behind me, using her knees at one point. They served tea before my session and also provided a fresh cuppa immediately afterwards. The whole ambience of the place was also so serene, perfect for relaxation. They even had these funky looking chairs (sofa?) for me to hang around.

Worst part though....

the lady asked how many months pregnant am I after the massage....I swear I'm not lying!

(-__-) I cried inside.

Mid-week

How time flies. Is it Wednesday already?

The weekend could not come any sooner! We're planning on a full-blown relaxation time for this small family of four. Oh wow, that's a mouthful.

FAMILY OF FOUR! Woot! And to think that yesterday my aunt advised me to add more 'minions' to the bunch at this so-called early age. Reason being so we would be 'tired' this one time managing all small lil' ones, and relax a little when they're older.

A valid point she made... but am not sure whether 'we're' ready yet. Still waiting to complete the house that we're moving into next... perhaps then we'd consider adding straight away?

If God wills it, of course.

At times like this, you can't help but be humbled by all that's happening around us. Everything indeed comes from Him, and from time to time you just need to be reminded that everything belongs to Him. You are just here 'hitch-hiking' your way to the afterlife, hopefully to the better side insyaAllah.

On a much lighter note, I'm making orange and black buttoned beauties this week... A tad bit late for halloween themed goodies, but it's fun to try and experiment new deco adventures don't you think?

Ketupat Rendang

Salam and Selamat Hari Raya to all!

It has been an eventful raya for us so far, alhamdulillah. Although I'm quite bugged that we still don't get to go back to kk yet.. Baby Elle is still too small and we're not that keen on flying her around that soon. Perhaps raya haji, insyaAllah....

Having raya straight after confinement is... challenging to say the least. Haha what will all the food, especially lemang! I live for lemang and rendang. I try to limit my lemang intake as it's known to cause gas to the little one. Kesian jugak, menangis2 when she passes wind. So I'm done with lemang for now. It actually surprises me that even after a week of raya etc, I still ask for pantang food i.e ikan bakar and sup sayur yesterday. Habit perhaps? Having eaten almost the same thing every other day for about 40 days (raya fell on my 41 day so ala2 merdeka laaa haha)

Hope you've had a good raya celebration with your loved ones and for those who have started work yesterday (or even the week before!), ah well.....

We still got to make a living right? Those paycheck ain't going to make its way into your bank account just like that!

Nesting

Yeah, as expected.. Ballooned and swelling all over. I'm such a sight. With nausea and tiredness still not subsided, it's no wonder that I've taken a serious step back from any writing.

Energy directed elsewhere, as they say.

Fortunately, I was lucky to be able to go on 2 trips before I pop. One was for work, the other purely leisure. Ah well, the husband bought the tickets wayyyyyyy before I got pregnant. Sayang la if we didn't go right?

Gladly, as it was one tiring but satisfying trip a mom-to-be needs ;)

Upon our return, somehow I begin to feel slightly panicky....

I have not prepared ANYTHING for the baby!?! Zilch! You know some things you take for granted, like 'ah, i have everything from my first born, why bother?'

WRONG!

My last pregnancy was almost 5 years ago. Apparently most of our previous items were either in storage (somewhere), lost or just broken. And when you have thoughts of what you need all over the place, it's just natural that you get more panicky than you already are when you started.

So it started with a list.... And it built up from there. As more and more boxes are ticked, either from having things found/bought.. My mind rests. To-date, I have about 4 items left on my list. At 30 weeks, I'm pretty sure I'm not over-preparing.. Haha or so I think.

So now it's official.. I'm nesting nesting nesting! Clothes to be washed, clothes to be re-arranged, bags to be packed. I guess it would be a much faster process if I didn't have to go to work. But em' bought items and credit cards need to be paid right?

Word game

We're teaching him to write.. Wherever/whenever we can.. Alphabets and numbers to begin with.. Not words, yet..

So... I'm not one to bring a pen and notepad wth me EVERYWHERE.. Since I have my ipad with me, practically 24/7 (at nights as my alarm clock).. We started to do our exercises wherever. Here's one with him practicing whilst we were waiting for papa to finish work during M'sia day

It's called Little Writer, available on the app store. Not bad. They even a section to practice whole words for later. Why Aaron loves it? It's because he has different characters to 'chase' the fruits, which would result in an alphabet or number, with SOUNDS!
