Bridal shower.... two months too late?

The original title read, "Bridal shower.... one month too late?"

Apparently, I've had this in my 'draft' folder for sometime now.. not realizing that it has not been 'posted' yet!

It seems that most (if not all) of my GFs are already married, some with kids on tow. So it comes as no surprise that everyone was really excited when the 'youngest' in the bunch is finally tying the knot! We say 'youngest' mostly because her birthday is the last of the year (December)... and because, well because she's Drog. 

*muahs!*

I remember clearly those London days when we used to countdown to her birthday, a MONTH in advance. Yes, during our uni days. Yes, in London. She enjoyed it and we all definitely enjoyed pampering her so. Ah, don't let her looks and demeanour fool you. As her then-boyfriend-now-husband perfectly puts it..

"She's a BEAUTY with a BRAIN"

 

Yes, so smart one this girl. Despite her 'ultra' vain'ness, this is one keeper. Probably the most humble, kind-hearted and thoughtful person I've ever met. 13 years of friendship and counting (Damn I'm getting old) 

So ANYWAY, since she's getting married (NOW happily married!) pretty soon, we had a bridal shower cum birthday party to celebrate. Wonderfully organized by Azz and Jidons, it was one perfecto affair. Close college-uni-work friends came to join in the fun. The deco was perfect, prepared by EventsbyAzzwaa (Instagram acc)

Oh and of course, cake by NHomeBakes, who else? Haha. Took a bunch of photos that day. Konon nya Sha and I were the 'photographers' laaa.. haha but most of mine turned out a tad dark. Still, have not bought a proper flashgun. Still... ahaha

 

Happy Belated Birthday D'rog!!!!! Biggest congratulations on your wedding and may you have a long-lasting beautiful marriage with TONNES of smart kids (since you both so hebat!!) haha

Ze loveee box!

I think I'm loving the naaakeeedd'ish look of this red velvet. Before, I was not able to produce one without crumbly looking sides (boo!). But I'm loving the new 7" pan bought at the bakery supply store near my house. 

And of course, where else would that extra batter go if not into cupcake cases? I promised a fellow baker friend for some samples (including em' macs) to try. So packed em' nicely in a plastic case (which I forgot to take a picture of!! grrr!!). With one left, I remembered ze one best friend who has been asking (read=craving) for a slice of cake since last week! What better way to surprise her but to leave what we now call, "ze Loveee box!" on her desk early in the morning before she arrived. Lucky our departments are on the same floor, hence I am able to actually go to her desk to place it there.. added element of surprise! 

What a nice ensemble, don't you think?

A B|ue affair

Last weekend I had a blue order. Cake and cupcakes for a babyshower. Guesses as to what will the sex of the baby be?

So I made a vanilla blue ombre cake and blue velvet cuppies, both with cream cheese frosting. As usual, making them was FUN! I had a slight miscalculation however, which ended up requiring me to make 2 separate batches of vanilla instead of one.

Mochi

On the 19th of September, we welcomed lil' mochi to the world. That was the nickname her lovely parents gave to her when she was still in her mummy's tummy.

Shasa was as calm as always.. "I think my water just broke.." That was the text I received and I left my phone at home time tuh. Imagine me squeling upon reading that text an HOUR later! Terus call text pelbagai!

Me: what ru doing? Dah gi hosp?"

Sha: belum.. Tgh makan.."

Yes, my girl ladies and gentleman. Takdak ye drama di sini. Apparently her sister who was with her the whole time pun slightly panicky. She, was calm. HAHAHA. The husband was not yet home at the time. So she waited until he came back pastu gi hosp.

Few hours later alhamdulillah, lil' mochi came into the world.. With strong lungs I heard. Haha badan je kecik ok, tapi suara masyaAllah, sedap dan kuat! Confirm nnti pandai nyanyi like mummy. Oh, lil' mochi was out at about 2am ish something. I have an exam the day after, so I was staying up studying whilst waiting for news..

Being the super strong mama that she is... She was whatsapping me AFTER delivery. When her husband was already 'out'. I remember being 'out' myself after giving birth about the same time almost 4 years ago. She???? Whatsapping macam baru lepas event biasa..

Again, my girl ladies and gentleman!

My highest respect woman! Here's to welcoming you to the lovely world of motherhood. From how you started, I'm pretty sure you'll do great! You're such a natural masyaAllah. May Allah always guide and protect you in this journey to raising a good muslimah and daughter.
