Futuristic!!
When I first heard the rumors I was already rolling my eyes. Like, seriously? That is SO hard! For someone who just enjoys getting all glammed up and ready for events.. I was seriously scratching my head..
I didn't want to rent an outfit (I seriously would prefer spending more money on 'accessorizing up' then get a dress that I wouldn't be able to keep!) so I resorted to consult my cousin, who is in the beauty industry. Heck, she got trained in London ah!
Unfortunately, she couldn't be in KL during the Annual Dinner day. So she recommended a replacement. Someone highly recommended. I agreed.
The steps?
To gather as much 'material' as I can, to complete the 'look'.. which, honestly... I didn't even know WHAT exactly. I just had a rough idea in mind. Searched through the ol' trusted google for inspiration and found..

Yeah.. that was the BASIC idea. How it turned out in the end, was definitely unexpected. Even I surprised myself in the end. But definitely loved it and enjoyed the experience. Since I LOVE makeup, amongst other things.. being able to learn a few tricks or two from one of the leading artists from the industry was really exciting!
The preparatory materials..
The preparatory 'face'? And you wonder why I HATE not wearing makeup. I look horrendous. Au naturale!
The result..
Totally unexpected but voila! To be honest, I wasn't really sure what I felt about it. A few lessons though:
1) Glad I stepped out of my comfort zone
2) I CANNOT pull off a 'vogue' face for the camera.. I seemed.. unhappy.. BAHAHAHA
3) I really need to learn how to pose differently for each picture
4) Must.Work.Arm.Muscles
5) Eating glitter (which was used for the lipstick) was weird. It tastes funny.. I ended up not really eating that night
6) Comfortable shoes are a must for events, know that you'll walk a LOT
7) After using literally a can of hairspray, work conditioner through hair FIRST, massage and leave on for a few moments BEFORE shampooing through.. SERIOUSLY
8) When removing objects from face (those pretty gems).. Use babyoil. It helps to dissolve the glue
Overall, I was happy. And I certainly had a great time! Although every year after the event I keep telling myself "I am not dressing up again next year".. I always fail to keep my promise..
Ah well, if it makes me happy, then why not?
xx
