Pushh!!! Pushhh!!! (1)

The story of me going into labor is certainly quite interesting and surreal, for me at least! I never thought that my mulut can be so masin!!!

Remember my last post before I went into labor? The one about me finally being ready for the baby in terms of his stuff, like his closet? HAHA... little did I know, that I would like seriously go into labor soon after, like literally 2 days AFTER!

I did also alwayssssss mentioned in many of my previous posts that I was going to take sick leave for like a week to rest at home before labor etc22.. BLAH!! hahahah I only managed to get 1 day sick leave, that night I went straight into labor!

OKay, so let me start from the beginning...

***************************
(9 December 2009: At the office)

Good gosh!! Why on earth was I still at the office??? the day was slower than usual. Not a minute passed by without me contemplating on whether or not to take a sick leave the next day (since I would be attending my weekly checkup with the doctor anyway!)..

Normally throughout the whole pregnancy, I'd be walking like how I usually walk.. FAST! And this was even with a big belly hanging out!!

but today was different... I succumbed to the so-called penguin walk.. walking slowly.. legs apart.. dragging my butt behind me.. YEAH, it was a draggy day!! And of all days, my boss decided to take notice on how I walked today (which was to my advantage actually :P).. So she came out of her office as I pass by, looked me once over, and said.. "I think you better go home early today.. and start taking MC dear!"..

Of course I was shocked.. Did I have "me want MC" written all over my forehead? Or did she suddenly develop the capability to read my mind? Whatever the case, of course I jumped at the suggestion, as though it my boss' idea for me to take leave, not mine... PERFECT!!!

(10 December 2009: Ampang Puteri for my weekly checkup)

Today of all the checkup days, we decided to let Yas go to work early without having to accompany me.. so instead, I brought my MIL with me. Well, she'll be able to ask more efficient questions so that's a plus!

During the ultrasound.. as usual I can't really decipher what the hell was on the screen!! haha bengong.. So I was really shocked when suddenly my MIL asked the Doctor (the handsome locum)

"Doc, where is the baby's head?" .. at this point I was like.. is it not there? haha

And then the doc replied, CASUALLY.. "Oh, the baby's head is already engaged"..

WHATTTTTTTTTTTT????

And then came the most uninteresting, dreaded part of all.. VAGINAL EXAM.. wtf??? Eeekkk!! honestly.. this was the worst part of labor.. I TELL YOU!! he put his finger inside THERE, pusing2 do whatever nonsense inside.. and then told us that I was actually already 2 FINGERS dilated!! OMGGGGGGGGG hahah

But he didnt say that it was going to be THAT NIGHT.. all he said was that he gave me until the weekend. So if I didnt give birth until Saturday, they would 'break my water' manually.. ERRKKKK????? and his last advice was..

"Make sure you walk a lot ok?"

so I literally went to pavillion later that day.. walked around.. all the while having a 30 min interval contractions.. hehe of course I updated my status timely to my MIL and Yas.. And don't worry, I was with Baby and Kak Nina the WHOLE time IN CASE my baby decides to come out there and then.. we even entertained the thought that I might get a free shopping spree if I were to deliver in Pavillion.. or perhaps GUCCI if I just timely enter their store to deliver.. *wishful thinking* hehehe

On the way back.. I thought to myself.. "since I'll probably give birth either today or tomorrow.. I might as well get a Br@zillian wax done now".. I've been meaning to do it since last week but never came around to..

Hah!! amik kau.... nasib baik I did it straight away! hehehehe I went through it calmly with the thought that the salon is just 2 mins walk away from Ampang Puteri.. SO if ANYTHING were to happen, haaaa go walk to the hospital jer laa.. hehe I got scolded by the makcik who did me.. heheh coz I kinda came at the last minute.. She was really nervous all the time, yelaaa takut I terberanak on the table kan!! haha But I don't blame her though :P

*Oh.. and that was about 5pm.. my contractions were like 20ish mins apart*.. hehe

Got home.. everyone waiting for me anxiously.. yelaa, getting regular updates from me actually got EVERYONE nervous.. EXCEPT me! Whenever I had a contraction, I'd just look at the clock.. remind myself "the labor would be MUCH MUCH painful so just calmed myself down thinking that the contraction pain SHOULD be bearable"

When the contractions were about 15 mins apart.. I remember what Yan said about hospitals in the UK would only allow preggers to be admitted when they are TRULY in labor so I took the same stance.. as long as I am still able to walk, not feeling any pain.. I shouldn't panic and stay at home so that I won't tire myself with all the unnecessary waiting at the hospital..

So I took my time..

Took a shower, repacked my bag.. prayedddd.. (after maghrib, Yas' aunty suddenly reminded me that I couldnt actually pray since I've been having a 'bloody show' since that afternoon).. ceh!! haha nvm, niat tu penting :P :P

Did I tell you that the house was packed?? And everyone was in panicky mode except me and my MIL.. Haihh, just wished Yas was there to help calm everyone down! haha he came back a bit late coz I told him not to worry and that I don't think he'll miss the whole labor..

But then after much persuasion from almost everyone, I just succumbed and went to the hospital.. Yas came in later (but still with ample time to kill.. see? there was no reason to rush things!) haha

(At the Labor ward)

Thank GOD they only allowed husbands in the labor room.. I simply do not need all that panicky energy around me, especially when I was quite calm! Yas' calmness definitely helped!!

The funny thing was.. since I had to WAIT till I was fully dilated (when I came in.. I was about 3cm dilated).. They gave me this whatever drip to help fasten the process.. but that still took some time.. we had nothing good to watch on telly!! So guess what we watched? bloody Up@n and Ip1n!! Whatever lah the name of the showw... sheesh!!! Ktrg both mcm.. eeiii crite ape ni?? but since nothing else to watch.. tgk jerlah! hahah

*to be continued....*

Hehe Part 2 coming right up!

Oh annie! hehe no worries, I think it's a really valid question! Well, I'm not going to sugar coat it for you, but it DOES hurt.. Well, depends on where you get it done basically.. A well established professional up scale looking waxing place would give you a less painful experience.. But the bottom line is, whenever I do it.. I always tell myself "labor pain is much worse! labor pain is much worse!" haha but doing it whilst having contractions like in my case.. well, that's a different story! hahaha I was so pre-occupied on NOT giving birth there that it wasnt as painful as always :)

Sha, my faith in that everything would be ok and the support system that I have helped me through.. no worries, insyaAllah I will be one of your support system when the time comes :) takpeee.. it'll be ok :) :) the 'result' is much sweeter than the experience.. hehe that first look at your baby would definitely wipe away all the pain, trust me :)
