Co-sleeping

When i was pregnant, yas and i told ourselves that we would make sure Aaron sleeps in his cot. Well, the resolution probably came about after we saw the price of the cot!, (pheww!!!)

After Aaron came into our lives, we did stick to that resolution. More so because i'm just afraid that i might crush him. Poor little guy. Since i am far from a light sleeper, yas agreed. But the cot is just by HIS side, so he won't be that far from us. Why yas' side you ask? Haha as i said, i am NOT a light sleeper. I can't even hear the baby crying at night, so him being a very light sleeper helps. He will then pick Aaron up and pass him to me. Or sometimes, try to cradle him to sleep first, and when he's really hungry.. Then he'll pass Aaron to me..

Some people would say that having the cot beside the bed is still considered co-sleeping. But the way the cot is positioned beside our bed, i wouldn't call it so. We only get the tail end of the bed near us, so the cot is placed againts the wall instead of the bed. Made more sense that way. Pemalas people us so lazy to push the cot back in place every morning :p

I am alhamdulillah blessed in the sense that i have a husband who is willing to do his fair share for the waking up bit. It made such a big difference. I didn't feel as exhausted as I'd expected, especially after reading all those pregnancy books on what to expect when the baby comes. Sometimes, after i started breastfeeding whilst lying down, yas will just put Aaron in position and guide the b**bie in place. Haha i didn't even wake up! After Aaron is done, he'll either put him back, or wake me up.

Okay, back to the main topic!!!! So after a while, as i became more and more aware of my surroundings as i sleep, we sometimes cheated. We brought Aaron in bed with us. On some nights it'll be due to extreme exhaustion. Just shoving the b**bie straight away is much easier without having to move from the bed :p

Well, sometimes it's just coz either of us miss him so much. Watching him sleep is just the best thing in the world. Kissing him whilst he's sleeping is even better!! We think that he loves it, coz even if we kiss him so hard and a LOT, he wont wake up!!! Seriously! And his baby smell is just intoxicating.

Because of the above, it got me thinking. Probably when he's older and wants to crash in with us at 3 years old or so, we cant blame him much. Coz we're the ones who brought him in in the first place! Hehe so now we're making a conscious effort to make co-sleeping a reward for him, instead of saja2.. Hehe so when he's been good, we take him in :)

So far he's been pretty good these days :P
